hpi t-drifts make me horny

« on: 26 July 2010, 11:23:22 AM »

Hi guys, I recently sold my baby, a tt01 on ebay. I had built it myself from the chassis up.it was sold on ebay, without a battery, as the one I had was new and I need it. Now the new owner has messaged me asking for a refund, as it only works when its off the ground, and when you put it down it doesn't work. Now to me this screams out battery! As they would have supplied their own. I'm all for helping someone out, and being fair. But I just wanted to see what you lot thought. I tested it before I sent it. Its just a shame they're not enjoying it like I did.

As long as the drivetrain was all free and functional, that is either an underpowering issue, or he has taken it apart and put it back together wrong. Could be a bad battery, esc too weak for the motor, or gears not meshing due to incorrect fitment of parts or incompatible tooth sizes. If i were you i would raise an ebay dispute yourself and explain that it was fully working, but requires user competence to operate, and to select and fit the correct moving parts. Explain that there is a vast array of possible causes relating to user error and that he needs to take it to his nearest rc shop to fix whatever he has buggered up. As such the error is not yours as you cannot be held responsible for buyer ignorance.

Ok cheers mate, I don't think I should give a refund as I don't feel its any fault of mine. I genuinely don't think they know the first thing about them. The gears etc were fine when I tested them. The only things not fitted were the esc and receiver but they worked fine and they're not that hard to fit. I genuinely think its the battery not being powerful enough. He seems to think its the receiver which it obviously isn't. Anyone else think different before I send a dispute to ebay.
Thanks for the help so far.
